Discretionary wealth management
Swiss private wealth management

With Discretionary Wealth Management a client gives us an investment mandate to manage his (or her) assets according to an agreed strategy, which will depend on his appetite for risk, his home currency, his age, his need for income and other factors. For this, like the banks, we charge an annual management fee (although our fees are considerably lower than those of the average bank). The client gives us the authority to take all the investment decisions without consulting him first. However, he will receive a confirmation from the bank after each account transaction.

Flexible approach
Discretionary asset management is the traditional way of managing money in Switzerland and is ideal for clients with neither the time nor the knowledge to follow the financial markets closely. With a management mandate, we have the flexibility to act quickly when necessary and you benefit from our disciplined in-house investment process, to which all Partners with their many years’ experience contribute. In contrast to many banks, we are free to select the best investments for your portfolio from the entire marketplace. And you are free to cancel the mandate at any time without penalty.

Risk and return
We firmly believe that investment should not be equated with speculation. The Swiss Private Banking tradition has been based on the long-term preservation of wealth and we aim to uphold this tradition with our clients. Unless you particularly request it, we will avoid very speculative investments and focus on obtaining a steady, absolute (ie positive) return, regardless of market direction, from a well-diversified portfolio.

However, the relationship between risk and return is well-documented and for this reason we offer four investment styles: conservative (100% invested in cash and capital-protected investments), low-risk (up to 40% in equities or equity-related investments), medium-risk (up to 70% in equities or equity-related investments) and growth (up to 100% in equities or equity-related investments).
